Frequently asked questions

What is an ETA and who needs one?

An ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is an electronic permit to travel to the United Kingdom. Since 2 April 2025 everyone arriving must have one, including Lithuanian citizens.

Is an ETA a visa?

No. It is a permission to travel, not a visa. It is completed electronically and linked to your passport.

How long does an ETA take?

Usually a few days. We recommend applying well in advance, because a rejected or incorrectly completed application can cost you the trip.

Why use you if I can apply myself?

You certainly can. People come to us when they would rather not risk a mistake on the form, or when handling documents by phone or online is inconvenient. We check the details before the application goes in.
